The restaurant’s name is also its top dish, and those who know good duck seem to agree that Peking Duck House’s signature offering is top shelf. It also happens to be the only restaurant in New York where you don’t have to order Peking Duck hours in advance! In fact, the Food Network tapped a segment on the restaurant’s special preparation of the dish.
In addition to the exotic, Peking Duck House also does the basics quite well. While orange chicken or beef at most Chinese restaurants involves too little meat and too much soggy coating, at Peking Duck House the fresh meats are cut in tasty thin slices and served nice and crispy. Established in 1980 with the help of Alex Low, the owner of the restaurant who still maintains a daily presence at the 53rd Street location, Peking Duck House has had plenty of time to perfect both its cooking and service.

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. The estimated time for delivery was 10-25 minutes. We did not get our food for over an hour and a half. The staff was completely unhelpful. Would NEVER order from this restaurant.

the peking duck and the fried pork dumplings were ok, everything else was disappointing. the steamed shrimp dumplings and vegetarian dumplings were inedible. we felt a bit sick after the meal, like something greasy and nauseating was sitting in our stomachs. I think this restaurant has raised prices and lowered quality in the past few years, and it's really hard to want to order from them again, even when there's a craving for peking duck.

I order the dried slice beef with orange flavor. I've had this dish in Chinatown before and it was awesome. At this restaurant, not so awesome. Honestly, I took two to three bites before I gagged and threw it out. This was the only dish I tried. I'm sure they must have better dishes... I hope. I may try them again because I usually like to give a place a second chance before I cross them off my list. But not anytime soon.

I was very disappointed with the soggy, flavorless and no vegetable General TSO's chicken, and it took them closer to an hour than the 15-20 minutes reported on Seemless.

Delivery said it would be here in 10-25 minutes...but really took an hour and 15. Food cold and person I called was rude and could care less.

The food and the service at Peking Duck House are outstanding. The pork dumplings and a wonton soup are a lunch feast. Everything else on the menu is equally as good, if not better. I've never been disappointed.

General Tso's Tofu was good - sauce is slightly thinner than I like, but very flavorful. Steamed veggie dumplings are not worth it. The dumpling sauce is boring (needs ginger).

I agree, the chicken in garlic sauce was very tasty. and the portion was large enough for 2 people which warrants the $15 price (this is usually more expensive than similar delivery places).

Delivery came late, the food was soggy, and my sandwich had bacon on it even though I did not order it

This is the BEST restaurant on Seamlessweb New York by far, not only because the dishes are reasonably priced and terrifically authentic, but also because the delivery people are inevitably cheerful, chatty and very friendly. Definitely the top go-to spot for awesome Chinese!
